This work is in five parts, it's designed so you can dip in and out, in total the duration is roughly 50 minutes
The texts in this piece have been contributed by five members of staff at University of Leicester, all of whom are white, and five postgraduate researchers who the university identifies as BAME, but do not identify with the term themselves. Three identify as black, one identifies as biracial, and the fifth does not identify with any ethnic group. Staff provided their texts as recordings in response to an audio form; these were re-recorded verbatim by performers, who adhered as closely as possible to the tone and delivery of the originals. The researchers were recorded during a series of workshops. Audio material on the landing page was originally created as written text in response to prompts and has been recorded by performers; no words have been altered in this process.
The slider on each theme enables you to go between two sets of voices, the researchers are on one channel, and the staff are on the other. You can go between perspectives from each group by sliding from left to right , or leaving the fader in the middle for a mix of both.
